Writing poems on a full-time basis is what I consider chapter 2 of my professional life. Despite a very early interest in scribbling poems, at age 7, writing directing and starring in plays from the age of 9, I never considered poetry as a viable career choice. After several decades of a lucrative and joyous career in events planning, creating and selling fresh unique desserts as a wholesaler, and founding, at the age of 23: a brand new young bride, straight out of hotel school, an upscale, trend-setting, highly respected successful catering company in Richmond VA, I was forced, for serious health reasons, to leave my life in the culinary arts. I sought to learn if my long-shuttered passion for writing free-verse poems, first discovered as a child, still existed, and to my great amazement, I discovered that it still remained...deep within...quietly dormant...but softy speaking of encouragement...promising enlightenment...the re-emergence of my first love: words and the pure joy of choosing the right ones to tell stories, address issues of critical significance, to explore, educate, and to find a way, with the bounty of those worlds, to initiate change, offer inspiration, and impact the lives of people from every corner of our planet.
